Cherish Life

I am fairly new to DA but I really love it. I can't get enough of all the cool brushes available for use in Photoshop. I am new to the digital art thing so as I learn new things in Photoshop and Illustrator (very cool program - but I am having difficulty learning it) I am really excited at all the possibilities.

I have been making jewelry though for about 15 years or so. I started when I was graduating from HS, and gee that was about 15 years ago... amazing how time flies.... right on by. I am realizing this as the days quickly fly by and 2008 is almost over. It makes me think that we have to cherish each one of our days because life is short and we need to enjoy the days we have. I love life there is so much to do and see, and it hardly seems there are enough hours to get it all done. I also have realized that you have stop and smell the daisies as well. Sometimes we get so busy trying to get to the next level in life we forget to enjoy the one we are on. I am trying to do that.

Reading: a book on Adobe Illustrator

I am a free spirited person, I don't have any kids and am not married but am in a relationship. I try to be open minded and am always ready for a new adventure. I love to meet new people & try to travel as much as I can.

As for work, I am self-employed. I have a small jewelry business where I sell my own beaded jewelry as well as sterling silver jewelry that I purchase and then re-sell. It is a little up and down but as long as I stay dedicated it usually always works out. I hope to learn how to silver smith someday soon. I have so many things I want to try so sometimes I tend to get a bit overwhelmed, but I think learning to silver smith is in the near future.

I started learning Photoshop just to be able to take better pictures of my jewelry for juried art shows. From there I discovered all of the other Adobe products and although still haven't learned much about them except for Photoshop I plan to learn them all someday. So I have attempting to learn photoshop and little bit about web design, which has been quite a large undertaking. There is so much to learn, and it can be so overwhelming. I think I am going to spend a couple of minutes editing a picture and the next thing I know (several hours later) I have edited several and started a few new projects. It's addicting for sure.

So in addition to the jewelry, I started making greeting cards and scrapbooks both digital & traditional. So far I have sold a few scrapbooks & cards although jewelry is still my predominant product. I really enjoy making greeting cards using both Photoshop and the traditional forms. I plan to take some pictures and post some on DA still and eventually I will finish making a website for it all.
